Dr.
Wesley Buch, Ph. D., is a registered psychologist (#1186) who
practices in the area of health and rehabilitation psychology.
Following his internship in the Psychology Department, Workers’
Compensation Board (WCB), he continued to work there in criminal
injury cases, complex case management and especially
interdisciplinary rehabilitation. In 1996, he became Manager of the
Pain Programs at WCB and supervisor of the Board’s provincial
network of pain programs – all responsibilities that continued his
interests in treatment innovation, outcome and quality assurance. In
1997, he co-founded Behavioural Health Care with Dr. Owen Garrett
and, together, developed an individually tailored,
cognitive-behavioural approach to disability management that
emphasizes the home, community facilities and the workplace as
rehabilitation clinic. Dr. Buch now provides formal psycho-legal
assessments, treatment for pain, anxiety and mood disorders, and
consultation services to the insurance and plaintiff lawyer
communities.
His
research interests include the psychometric measurement of civilian
Posttraumatic Stress Disorder, the assessment and treatment of
pain-anxiety states associated with critical job demands (fully
funded), and a neurobehavioural theory and treatment approach to
MVA-related posttraumatic headache. His clinical interests include
an individual/group approach to mood and adjustment disorders, a
neurobehavioural approach to tinnitus, and a psycho-physiological
approach to failing work return attempts. |
